I build the parts of a product that have to be right — the data model, the hot path, the agent that can't hallucinate its way through a task — and the product around them.
I'm a full-stack software engineer based in NYC, working across AI/ML systems, backend infrastructure, and data-heavy products. Most of my work lives where correctness and performance both matter: a quant trading platform that runs backtests from natural language, concurrency-safe data layers, and pipelines that move messy data reliably.
I've been the first engineer more than once — owning backend architecture from an empty repo — and I've contributed inside a large financial institution at Citi. Alongside that, I maintain open-source tools like SqliteWorker and iFetch that have reached thousands of developers.
Good engineering is mostly judgment: knowing what to build well, what to keep boring, and what to delete.
Measure, then optimize
Performance work starts with a profile, not a guess. I fix the bottleneck that actually exists.
Boring where it counts
Proven, well-understood tools for the load-bearing parts. Save the novelty budget for the actual problem.
Own the whole path
From the database schema to the deploy. High agency means seeing a system end to end and being accountable for it.
Ship, then learn
A running MVP in front of a user beats a perfect design doc. Instrument it and let reality tighten the scope.
- Systems where a wrong answer is worse than a slow one — trading, payments, data integrity.
- Performance problems with a real profile behind them, not premature optimization.
- AI features that need to be dependable, evaluated, and safe — not just impressive in a demo.
- Ambiguous zero-to-one products where the job is to find the core loop and ship it.
I got into programming through building things I wanted to exist, and that hasn't changed — most weekends there's a side project or a tool I'm sharpening. I like markets and systems thinking, and I read a lot about how good software teams actually operate.
I care about craft: clean interfaces, honest documentation, and code that the next person can understand without a meeting.
